We are developing a specialised online course on tourism and animal welfare, designed to provide a practical understanding of how these aspects can be integrated into different tourism activities. The course will be structured into three modules:
Module 1. Tourism and Animal Welfare
An introduction to the relationship between tourism, biodiversity and ecosystems, together with the scientific foundations of animal welfare.
Module 2. Animal Welfare Assessment
Learn how to assess animal welfare using the Five Domains Model, with a distinction between activities involving animals under human care and activities involving wildlife.
Module 3. Specialised Training
Participants will be able to explore the area most relevant to their professional activity through specialised modules, including cetacean watching, diving, safaris, working animals and other tourism activities involving animals.
