Animal Wise is also a non-profit organisation dedicated to promoting animal welfare and more responsible practices in tourism through education, research and collaboration with public and private organisations.

We work to improve the relationship between tourism and animals by bringing scientific knowledge and good practices to travellers, professionals, businesses, public entities and organisations.

We believe that education, training, research and collaboration are essential tools for advancing towards tourism activities that take animal welfare, conservation, and the specific characteristics of each species and activity into account.

As a non-profit organisation, our aim is to develop awareness-raising, training, research and technical support projects that provide knowledge and practical tools to help improve the management of tourism activities involving animals.

Project Support & Development

During 2026, Animal Wise has received financial and institutional support from the Ingenia ODS Programme of the University of La Laguna Foundation, an important boost that has enabled us to continue developing and strengthening our project.

Thanks to this support, we have been able to advance the development of online training, animal welfare criteria and standards, and pilot assessments of tourism activities involving animals in the Canary Islands. It has also enabled us to participate in events, training sessions and networking opportunities with professionals and organisations across the sector.

This support has been key to helping us turn our knowledge and experience into practical tools for professionals and travellers.
